The Government of Orissa in partnership with Government of India has initiated Orissa Community Tank Management Project (OCTMP) to repair and rehabilitate approximately 900 minor irrigation tanks having a command area of 40 ha to 2000 Ha and covering 1.20 lakh ha across the state of Orissa with funding from World Bank. The Orissa Community Tank Development and Management Society (OCTDMS) has been formed as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Department of Water Resources, Government of Orissa to conceptualize and operationalize the OCTMP. The project envisages execution through primary and secondary institutions from the State Project Unit through its 21 District Level Units to the Community Level Groups with facilitation of Support Organizations covering 29 districts of the state.

* Contract for Web based MIS of OCTMP signed with CES Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Kolkotta on dated 14-12-2009.

* The rehabilitation work in Tanks breaks ground with award of contract at Olagadiajhar MI Project under Mayurbhanja District.

* World Bank Mission visits Orissa from 14 - 19 th September 2009 to review progress of OCTMP. Detail Program

* The Selection for recruitment of personnel at SPU and DPU's completed for the year.Recruitment Results, OCTDMS

* The ALSS activities at tank level initiated in projects of first batch from current Kharif Season.

* The project starts tank improvement activity with tendering of civil works in 19 tank projects.

* The project awards contract for external Monitoring and Evolution of OCTMP works to M/S HYDROSULT , CANADA in association with M/S Sutra Consulting Services , Bhubaneswar. Contract signed on 21.08.2009 . Contract Document

* The project awards contract to National Council for Cement and Building Materials, Ballabgarh, Haryana for imparting training on quality control and quality assurance to it's engineering personnel. The first batch of training starts 31st August 2009. Contract Document

* The Project signs contract for consultancy on Internal Audit of OCTMP with M/S Roy Ghosh and Associates, Chartered Accountants, Hawarah on 01.08.2009 . Contract Document

* The Project signs contract for consultancy on External Audit of OCTMP with M/S Patro and Co., Chartered Accountants, Bhubaneswar on 16.07.2009 .Contract Document
